It is about time I added a new post, huh?

Well it has been a long long time huh? Sorry…but at this age and with this body I just do not move like I used to do. I have actually been crafting and doing some craft room organization in these last few months and will shortly be ready to reveal what I have done. But for now I just wanted to catch up. It now takes me a day to do what I used to do in a couple of hours. So while I have very little to show here I will try just to break the ice of a path gone silent. I still live in the mountains of Tennessee and living in the same house with the same views. I have the same craft room but it is ever changing. Have changed some of my most used crafting machines. I used electric die cutting machines…the Gemini, Gemini Pro and the Cricut Maker. I love using these to aid in making some of my crafting much prettier. Just fun using them. It amazes me the technology that has been used to make these the best ever machines. They have helped me at the present in making my organization more efficient and certainly more pretty. At present I am working on organizing my ephemera…and I have tons of it for making Junk Journals. I search the internet for most of it while I do have some actual old pieces from years gone by…but I am stingy with it. I don’t mind printing and using because I can print them as many times as I need. I have been a member of the Hpinstantink.com…which I love….I can print up to 300 pages a month for $9.99 and I have lots of rollover pages so at present I could actually print up to almost 700 pages this month. I did not print any for a few months…well not many. But when I run out of ink they automatically send me new ink…my printer is hooked to the internet so it auto reads how much ink I have. so I figure using $9.99 a month just to replace my ink is well worth it. This was the cost of just one smaller cartridge before…so it is well worth the cost of membership for this. Also I have started using a new printer paper because I want quality photo printed pages. I now use https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00006IDRW?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details and while it is only 65 lb weight it prints like photo quality and if I need the printed page to be stronger I can glue it onto heavier card stock. I use a lot of printed pages for my junk journals so these are much better quality pages. I design some of my pages but I also purchase from etsy.com digital papers and kits…and there are some really good designers from which to choose. By ordering the digi kits I can print each page as many time as I want and can print them in the size I need for a project. For a period of time I loved the earth tone pages and grungier the better….I am not going through a phase of pastel colors and leaning more to the flowery and nature type designs. But that could change next week you never know. As for my journal making I use old book covers and sometimes card board for the covers of my journals. My daughter works in an office and they are redoing their files and so she has accumulated lots of file folders for me to use also. They also make nice tag bases. I know I am probably rambling here but kind of laying a new foundation for this blog. I want to make it a weekly thing and have things to “give” and share with all of you.

Long time no see!! Hopefully will be back often!

Well it has been a long long time since I have been here…guess everyone thought I had given up and truth be known I had. But I am doing digital stuff now and is not so tiring to this old body as physically doing “stuff”. I still do physical stuff…but not so much. I want you to check out some of my digital listing…at time I have 52 listings on Etsy.com and my store name it “Tagsdollsnotherstuff”…so please check it out…as I list new items I will come here and post some of them…please check them out …right now I have lots of ebooks of the crochet and knitting nature….but I also have lots of ephemera and papers and pages for printing for your junk journals and albums. I am really enjoying this and hope to do lots more. From time to time I will also be listing journals and albums I have made myself…here are some samples of my digital listings..

Trying to get back into the mood!!!

Has been sometime now and I really have no legitimate reasons only excuses. Being old is not for the weak. It requires lots of discipline which I do not have. My oldest daughter Lisa passed in May and I have not been the same. She had MS for over 20 years and we knew it would happen one day but did not expect it so soon. So I am forcing myself to get busy and try to keep my mind off of that. And since I am old and weak anyway that is not always possible. I have gone on a “challenge” with others on the Facebook Page “Craft Room Organization with JenniferMaker” for reorganization of our Craft rooms within 30 days. Well the 30 days does not work for me as I can only work for an hour at the time and then rest for a while and then go back to it. Anyway I got side tracked when I came upon my antique or vintage buttons. I always intended to organize them and make cards for them and a way to display. Anyway have worked for a week on these…which was a fun interruption for me. During the first week after Lisa’s passing I received a Crafter’s Companion Gemini Machine but did not open it til a week ago. Oh it is so amazing….no more cranking to get my die cuts. And I have a ton of dies. I was using diecuts to decorate the button cards so I made up lots of them. Anyway I got some cards made and a box to put them in. This is only one box out of many I will have to make in order to get all of my vintage buttons organized. So here a some pictures of my cards in the box and a few of the actual cards…

My cards measure 3.5 by 4 inches each. They have all white backs so I can enter any info on them. I hope to have some pictures within the week of my craft room before and after pictures.

New Commitment To This Blog

I have been so lax on this blog but I am resigned to it on a new level. I need to do more crafting and I want to pass any tips or processes on to others. So this is my promise to try and stay focused on this new resolve to do this on a weekly basis….maybe even get to a point of biweekly endeavor. I am still an old lady and a year older than last post. So with that said let me share some of the things I am doing to get myself started on a new promise to myself to get more involved in life. My first step was to begin my selling of tags on Ebay.com again….it is still under the user name of Old_Ladies_Estate_Sale …so check my listings page here https://www.ebay.com/usr/old_ladies_estate_sale . These tags can also be purchased directly from this site without going via Ebay. I am just learning how to do this so please give me a little time to learn all of the functions and processes for being able to do this. Also I will be offering my “Sandy’s Album/Card Scraps here. I will be offering them in bulk for savings on shipping cost as they weigh very little. This way you save by purchasing die cuts and do not actually have to purchase a die cutting machine nor the many dies to accomplish making your albums and cards. This is my first run on the new setup of this blog posting and so will be back later to actually begin the posting of tutorials and also the purchasing of my products. So happy trails and keep crafting!

The Journey Begins

Thanks for joining me!  This is a new site for me where I can share my new adventures. I am 73 years of age and have many old adventures of which to share but in this blog I wish to share my new adventures.  Now for someone of my age our adventures may seem too tame for you but for me to even have enough knowledge to have a blog is one up on many.  I do mostly paper crafting now.  My years gone by were filled with raising 6 children and then a few grandchildren from time to time.  That is one quick sentence which entails way more than what it seems.  Day to day year by year…my years of raising children had a run of 41 years from start to finish….if you can call it finish when the last child moves out of the house.  Because some of them still have a need from Mama from time to time.  And there were those years when those who moved out had to move back in for some reasons and this time they had children who came with them :).  I do not regret any of my life…but I do regret some of my own actions within it.  so after saying all of this I hope in the morning to begin to share some of my crafts….mostly paper crafts…with anyone who wishes to listen…or I should say …read.. so check it out tomorrow for some card making I am doing in the Christmas season.  I have lots of family to send cards to this 2018 Christmas.
